Intrado is looking to hire a Senior Incident Commander to join our team. 

Intrado’s Incident Command Program is modeled after FEMA’s Incident Command System (ICS). As a Senior Incident Commander, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the response to critical incidents and emergencies including effectively coordinating response efforts, managing resources, and communicating with various stakeholders. You will be part of Intrado’s 24 x 7 Incident Command team which includes on call rotation.   

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership and direction during incidents, maintaining an overall incident perspective and ensure the Incident Command System (ICS) processes are properly followed 
  • Ensure the appropriate incident communication is maintained throughout the incident process including pages, customer updates, internal and external notification in support of FCC requirements as well as customer contract obligations and internal policies. 
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between response teams, ensuring a coordinated effort
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and other relevant parties during incidents
  • Mentor and support junior staff in their professional development
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous incidents to enhance future response efforts
  • Prepare detailed, concise incident summaries as needed
  • Prepare detailed reports on incident metrics (e.g.: MTTA, MTTB, MTTR) and ad hoc reports as needed

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, IT, statistics, or related field required 
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for education requirements 

Experience:     

  • 4+ years Incident Command experience
  • Must be available to respond to incidents 24/7/365 including weekends and holidays (on call rotation)
  • Must be able to work the night shift: 10pm – 8:30am Mountain Time 
    • Training will be an earlier shift from 6am – 4:30pm Mountain Time (after training you will be transitioned into the night shift)
    • Schedule is 4 days on either Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in conducting after-action reviews (AARs) with Incident Command Team members following incidents to evaluate response performance and identify areas for improvement to include assessment of IC work instructions and make necessary improvements preferred 
  • Experience with documenting clear and concise procedural documentation/ instructions, conducting one on one and group training, lead simulations and exercises preferred 
  • Effective decision-making abilities
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under high-stress and/or tense situations
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, MS Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Experience with emergency notification and ticketing tool, preferably Everbridge IT Alerting System, ServiceNow preferred
  • Experience in emergency management, public safety, telecommunications, or IT-related field preferred 
  • Business Continuity Experience i.e.: Business Impact Analysis, Plan Development & Exercising, preferably using Fusion Risk Management preferred 
  • Understanding of network topology in a TCP/IP, asynchronous, and synchronous environment preferred 
  • Knowledge of telephony networks (e.g., SS7, SIP, ISDN, wireless 9-1-1, PSAP connectivity, network topology, etc.) needed 
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Incident Command System (ICS) certifications (ICS 100, 200, 300, 400), and other relevant certifications a plus

The hiring range for this position is anticipated between $80,000 – 85,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
