Job Summary:

The Night NOC Manager will lead the Network Operations Center team in monitoring, managing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves coordinating with various IT departments to ensure network performance, resolving issues efficiently, and implementing strategies for continuous improvement. The NOC Manager is also responsible for ensuring compliance with operational policies, managing escalations, and providing leadership to the NOC staff. This position will require on-call and night/weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Recruit, train, and develop NOC team members.
    • Provide mentorship and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
    • Oversee 24/7 monitoring of network systems and infrastructure.
    • Ensure the timely detection and resolution of network issues.
    • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Incident and Problem Management:
    • Manage and prioritize network incidents and service requests.
    • Coordinate with other IT departments to resolve complex issues.
    • Develop and implement incident response protocols.
  • Performance and Reporting:
    • Track and report on network performance metrics and KPIs.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on network health and incident trends.
    • Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance:
    • Develop and maintain NOC operational procedures and best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance NOC operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for network-related issues.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address network needs.
    • Communicate effectively with executive management on network status and issues.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan and execute network-related projects and upgrades.
    • Manage resources and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance network operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position managing people. 
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Computer Science, MIS (Management Information Systems) or similar degree
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, ITIL, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.

  • The starting salary for this position is estimated between $82,800-95,000 a year and varies depending on experience.
