Intrado is seeking a VP, Sales for our Interactive Services Commercial Products group.  This role can be remotely based from anywhere in the United States.  Interactive Services is focused on delivering unbelievable Customer Experience (CX) outcomes leveraging digital messaging, personalized and predictive self-service and cloud contact center infrastructure solutions.

The Vice President, Sales is responsible for leading and directing the activities of the North American direct sales staff to meet company sales objectives and achieving annual sales goals while remaining consistent with corporate policies, procedures, and philosophies.  Oversees prospecting activities to include cold calling new sales leads, assisting in go-to-market and following the sales process from beginning to end.  Develop and implement strategic plans in order to proactively enhance the business segment’s ability to meet future needs of new and existing clients.  Develop objectives to deepen existing customer relationships and enhance adoption. Proactively oversee the activities involved in quality resolution of high-level client problems.

What You Will Be Doing

Sales Functions 

  • Ensure new business prospects are a good match for Intrado’s products and services then outline opportunities and benefits of pursuing a business relationship
  • Oversee support sales activities such as RFPs, proposal development, etc. for new and existing clients
  • Ensure timely coordination of internal resources for sales presentations which may include technical and cross-divisional expertise
  • As needed, work with internal departments (e.g., Product Management, Go tp Market & Training, etc.,) to reconcile customer feedback and competitive data related to assigned products
  • Comprehensive understanding and representation of monthly financials to include revenue and churn impacts in coordination with the finance team
  • Work in coordination with Sales Operations to ensure reporting, dashboards for pipeline management and contract management are accurate and timely for monthly business reviews and executive readouts

Strategic Leadership 

  • Build, mentor and lead an effective management team capable of supporting sustained rapid growth and carry out established strategies, business goals and objectives
  • Partner with peer Vice Presidents and Executive Management team to ensure overall profitability of the business unit, implementing strategy adjustments as necessary
  • Continually review the organizational structure to ensure optimal staffing needed to meet strategic plans and business objectives
  • Communicate performance with area of area of responsibly to senior executive leaders that could impact overall business results to meet established goals and objectives

Sales Forecasting 

  • Work with Executive Management to develop new business opportunities for current and potential clients; evaluate those opportunities for best potential return on company resources
  • Maintain relationship with Executive Management to review common opportunities and intercompany sales lead referrals
  • Apply new Business Review Process for program overviews to ensure potential new businesses meet company criteria (e.g., revenue, call volume, operational compatibility, etc.)
  • Review year-to-date report by client and make client deletions based on established criteria

Employee Leadership Development 

  • Coach, develop, and mentor coworkers and subordinates to achieve quality performance
  • Participate in the development of strategies to find optimal solutions to compensate, attract, and retain the talent necessary to achieve established goals and objectives
  • Assist staff with establishing and attaining career development goals
  • Ensure that employee training is effectively conducted for all positions throughout assigned area of responsibility

Client Relationships 

  • Place the highest priority on providing quality customer service by ensuring sales staff meet the unique needs of client and department contacts
  • Ensure the unique needs of the client are understood and identify improvements needed to enhance business relationships, increase revenue, and exceed the client's expectations
  • Participate in on-site client visits which may include accompanying staff on sales calls to client sites
  • Review and approve selected client communications (e.g., RFPs, major proposals, direct mail copy, problem resolution correspondence, etc.) as required

Budget Administration 

  • Continuously improve expense controls, cost savings measures and budget products
  • Identify and monitor budget variances monthly and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Project staffing levels necessary to meet business goals and objectives

What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, marketing, or a related field required
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 9 years of progressively responsible management experience and a minimum of three years sales, marketing, or related experience required
  • Minimum 9 years of sales, management, or account management experience, to include 3 years of experience in the Unified Communications as a Service, Contact Center as a Service Industry
  • Minimum 10 years' experience selling telecommunications services required
  • Minimum 10 years' experience selling customer experience solutions and/or services required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years selling wholesale telecommunications services preferred
  • Minimum 5 years sales management or executive sales management preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a telecommunications company selling collaboration solutions preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experienced preferred
