Job Summary:  We're looking for an engineering leader who wants to have a big impact shaping an innovative and meaningful B2B SaaS solution that helps customers have more meaningful conversations. This role is based out of our NYC office but is 100% remote as needed.  

The Lead VoIP Engineer will be directly responsible for the growth and execution of the OnSIP SIP Platform as we move into the next phase of product expansion at OnSIP. This role reports to the Director of Engineering but would work closely with key leaders in the product organization.

The Senior VoIP Engineer will:  

  • Be a leader in key architectural decision making for the OnSIP Platform
  • Act as a mentor and lead for the whole OnSIP engineering team on SIP and the  architecture of the OnSIP platform
  • Participate in the maintenance, upgrades and operation of the OnSIP Platform
  • Provide troubleshooting and support to the Network Operations team on customer escalations
  • Maintain the components of the OnSIP SIP Platform system that share SIP data to other components of the OnSIP network
  • Analyze VoIP performance, usage and traffic flows in order to optimize performance
  • Be in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation to handle operational problems

Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
  • Minimum eight years of experience working with SIP VoIP systems
  • Comprehensive ability to read and write C/C++
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Unix/Linux platforms required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with MySQL, Redis, Cassandra
  • Experience with Linux, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, RTPengine
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift)
