Job Summary:  We're looking for a lead software engineer who wants to have a big impact shaping an innovative and meaningful B2B SaaS solution that helps customers have more meaningful conversations. This role is based out of our NYC office but is 100% remote as needed.

As an engineering leader, you will be directly responsible for key product initiatives as we move into the next phase of product expansion at OnSIP. This role reports to the Director of Software Engineering, but will work closely with key leaders in the product and design organizations.

About OnSIP: Headquartered in New York’s Financial District, OnSIP is a leading SaaS provider of real-time communications (RTC) services to thousands of SMBs with a focus on making conversations personal, meaningful and timely. Recently acquired by Intrado (formerly West), we are on an exciting frontier of a new wave of growth. We are looking for passionate candidates who want to expand and scale OnSIP at this exciting time. 

Essential Duties:      

  • Work closely with the product managers, architects, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate overall product portfolio requirements into well-designed and functional resources
  • Have ownership of moving the OnSIP backend APIs and associated database architecture forward into the next phase of OnSIP’s growth. Focus on key elements such as reusability, scalability, maintainability, and security
  • Provide mentorship and code reviews to a team of developers contributing to the OnSIP backend APIs and the business intelligence platforms at OnSIP
  • Participate in development processes includes scoping, detailed design, estimation, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance and support
  • Work closely with the OnSIP Systems team to maintain and optimize backend API performance and security
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on new features after implementation, which may include additional training, upgrades, or program enhancements

 Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Minimum eight years of experience working with PHP in a LAMP stack environment.
  • Significant experience with writing and optimizing MySQL queries
  • Minimum three years of experience working an Agile environment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Unix/Linux platforms required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB or DynamoDB
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, Ruby, Javascript
  • Significant experience with Linux on the command line
  • Experience with JSON, XML
  • Experience with AWS (S3, Redshift)
