Function:

The “CMDB and IT Asset Management Process Owner” role owns the ITIL based Configuration Management, Hardware Asset, and Software Asset Processes within Intrado.  This role will continually assess current state and maturity of these processes, develop, and maintain a roadmap for improved process maturity, and then implement and drive execution of that roadmap and process deliverables.  This role will have C level executive visibility and face aggressive timelines.  This role partners closely with owners of related ITIL processes (e.g., Incident, Change, Information Technology Service Continuity) to ensure assigned processes are fulfilling the needs of the business in an efficient manner.

This role also supports, but does not own, the IT Service Continuity function in Intrado.

Intrado is a rapidly evolving enterprise.  The ideal candidate thrives on change.  This role will initially be part of a larger team of centralized CMDB and Asset Process Owners before moving into an ownership role for these processes for one segment of Intrado.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop applicable process and practices necessary to operate in control.
  • Implement solutions with urgency for Intrado to receive increased measurable benefits from this capability. There is an urgency.
  • Establish and build relationship with other ITIL process owners as well as applicable tool owners and stakeholders to understand Intrado business objectives, data structure, and how CMDB and Asset Management processes will best support Intrado enterprise and process specific objectives.
  • Develop and execute process maturity and execution review cadence with Service Owners at applicable process and Service touch points.
  • Develop and continually improve process execution using automated means wherever possible, and clearly document responsibilities and expectations of Service Owners or other stakeholders where manual maintenance is necessary.
  • Maintain and enhance configuration in applicable tool(s) (ServiceNow, ILMT, etc.) to achieve process goals.
  • Continually maintain, share, and utilize knowledge of leading practices in applicable processes and technologies.
  • Serve in a backup capacity for other ITIL process owners.
  • Accomplish additional, related projects as necessary
  • Support Information Technology Service Continuity plan development, execution, and continuous improvement for disaster recovery, and develop key recommendation on the recoverability processes, RTO, RPO and MTD recommendations for IT applications.
  • Coordinate plan and execute data center recovery tests with application, infrastructure and shared services support - both in house and third party.
  • Document resiliency system specifications, issues, resolutions and implement changes to improve usability, function and efficiency across the technology stack.

Experience:

  • Degree level education: fields of study in computer science, information technology, accounting, or finance related discipline.  Work experience may be substituted.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a CDMB and/or IT Asset Management practitioner, at least 3 years in Global Information Technology environments
  • At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining one or more Asset Management or Configuration Management processes. 2 years of experience preferred using ServiceNow Hardware and/or Software Asset Management modules.
  • Experience preparing and optimizing Licensing Utilization based on IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Software Asset, and/or Hardware Asset modules preferred
  • Software Asset function covers data center, end user, and public cloud licensing.  Vendors include Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Sun, RedHat, and others.
  • Comfortable conveying CMDB and Asset Management process practice expectations and results to Service Owners and C level leadership
  • High level understanding of SDLC and various development and project methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.
  • ITIL V3/V4 Foundation preferred
  • Extensive experience with Excel & MS Office Tools
  • Optional Fusion Framework System a plus
  • Proven history driving improvements in process maturity and execution
  • Understanding of Business Applications and their functionality in the ITIL model
  • Comprehension of, and the ability to communicate and implement the ITIL Hardware and Software Asset Management Models

Desirable:

  • CMDB/Software Asset specific or SAFE, Six Sigma, Lean, PMI, CBCP, or other applicable certifications.
